Anyone who has had exposure to a confirmed case in the last 14 days and has symptoms should:

Patients with a scheduled appointment not displaying symptoms should present to the hospital as planned. As the hospital has restricted visiting at this time Patients attending the hospital for an inpatient procedure are encouraged to:

  • Bring sufficient clothing for their entire stay
  • Bring a mobile phone and recharger (and sufficient credit)
  • Bring any personal items they may require for their entire stay


In response to the escalating COVID-19 pandemic, from Thursday, 19th March 2020 for the safety of our patients and staff the Emergency Department is no longer providing a walk-in service.

If you wish to attend the Emergency Department please phone 1800 645 999 in advance to speak to a member of our medical team. You will be allocated the next available appointment time, however urgent cases will be prioritised and will be seen as soon as possible.

It is important to note that Hermitage Medical Clinic is not a designated receiving hospital for COVID-19 (Coronavirus) cases, and that in line with the latest guidelines from the HSE/HSPC, any suspected cases presenting to the hospital will be notied to Public Health. Please note: Patients with potential respiratory conditions should not attend Hermitage Medical Clinic Emergency Department.


Hermitage Medical Clinic provides complex medical services to Patients who may be very vulnerable to infection and specically the threat of Coronavirus. As a precautionary measure and in the interest of the safety of our Patients and Staff we are requesting that the public do not visit Patients in Hermitage Medical Clinic at this time.

We would encourage family and friends to contact inpatients, by mobile phone or video calling apps (such as Face Time, What’s App video calling, etc.) until these visiting restrictions are lifted.

The hospital is providing additional support to our Patients at this time should they require any basic requirements such as newspapers/toiletries/foodstuffs/phone credit.

We appreciate that family contact is important to our Patients particularly at critical points in time of care and the hospital will, of course, facilitate visiting arrangements in such exceptional circumstances but only by prior arrangement directly with the Ward or Unit staff.
